A few months ago I had an idea to start a blog/zine dedicated to highlighting the Central Florida art scene. I struggled with the concept for some time, finally decided to take the leap, started working on the project, and ArtScene Press was born.

I anticipated starting small and growing the project from there.  I reached out to the Orlando arts community to gauge interest and enlist assistance. I’m happy to say, the community responded with enthusiasm.

During the past few months I’ve had the privilege of working with an amazing group of   artists and writers, and a great editor to make this project a reality. And now, with this post, I’m happy to announce that we’re ready to release weekly articles spotlighting visual arts, music and more in Central Florida and elsewhere. In these posts, designed by Rebecca White and edited by Linda Saracino, you’ll see articles by Amanda Bertizlian, Chris Carr, Philip Ringler, Joseph Trask and others. The first one will post on Friday, September 14, 2018, and a new article will post every Friday after that. And there’s more: we also plan to publish a quarterly zine starting in October. We hope you’ll join us on this exciting creative journey. In the meantime, keep an eye out for the blog’s official début next Friday.
